After upgrading to Firefox 4 my Roboform 6 doesn't work. I've tried several workarounds suggested on the web to no avail. I don't want to pay to upgrade to Roboform 7

This is a marketing decision by Roboform not to make version 6 compatible, forcing people to upgrade.

There is a free alternative you can try, LastPass Password Manager - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager

I still don't see the statement on the RoboForm site that specifically states that v6 won't work with FF v4. It is not clear to me which program is causing the problem. I just get the Roboform icon, and the Close button, nothing else, in FF4. So, RF is there - but not completely.

I DID try RF7 and it comes up fine in FF4. The information you need to know, that is not on the RoboForm site, is that the GUI is totally different from the v6 version. The GUI shown in the on-line manual is the v6 GUI. V7 GUI looks like a child's cartoon book; it is not intuitive, and many features are gone. You can no longer paste a data field into the clipboard. You can no longer modify a data field in the editor. What were they thinking?

Until someone get's this stuff fixed right, I'm sticking with the RF v6, (I use the 2Go flash version) and 3.x FireFox. I've already wasted 24 hours on this issue, thinking I did something wrong. So far, no intelligent replies from RF on the matter.

Well, LastPass may be a great alternative, which I will check out. But I will NOT check it out just because it is free.

As far as paying to upgrade RoboForm 6 to RoboForm 7, this practice has been reasonable and standard for almost every piece of software I own. Unless you specifically buy a lifetime subscription license, major number upgrades are never free. Upgrading is usually discounted from the full purchase price and RoboForm7 is no different, being 19.95 to upgrade from v6 to v7. I just don't get why everything is expected to be free.
