Thunderbird address book

more options

Address book is no longer accessible after update from 68 to 102.7.2 on Mac OS High Sierra. This is the first time ever not being able to work around an install issue. The update was done by another person and there were no reported errors but now the address book is completely inaccessible. The other person did not know to back up before the install so there is that complicating my fixing the issue.

Updating over that many releases is generally not advised, as each new release often has changes that are applied during the update. The safe sequence from 68 would then be upgrading in this sequence: - 68.1 - 78.0.1 - 98.0.1 - 102.0.1 - 102.7.2 (current release) I think it was 78 that changed the addressbook, converting old format to new. If you can locate the old mab file, you an import it via tools>import>import from file

Yes I wouldn’t have done a jump like that without having a full back up so I can pull whatever I need from there but I don’t think I will have that option here

David is correct.

You will want to return to version 68, and let Thunderbird determine which updates to make by doing help > about > (update to what is presented)
