So firefox doesn't load any webpages, can't check for updates and when I try to open it in Troubleshooting mode it crashes (or when i try anything that requires a restart such as clearing startup cache, Refresh Firefox etc. , it crashes). It also crashes when quitting with Command + Q.

What I have tried: Basically everything stated in this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can

I also saw that firefox can't check for updates, so I'm guessing it can't connect to the internet? (Other browsers work fine: Safari, Chrome)

OS: MacOs 12.1 Monterey CPU: Apple M1 Pro 8C/14C RAM: 16GB

I don't have MacOS or any firewall active.

Forgot to mention. 1 day prior to this post, everything worked fine. I haven't restarted or done anything to it or my laptop from when it worked and when it stopped working.Just put my laptop to sleep when I went to bed and realised in the morning that it doesn't work. I tried reinstalling Firefox and restarting my Mac to no avail.

Hi

I appreciate that you may have done this already, but please can you restart Firefox which should resolve this issue.

I did in the morning, countless times, still not working.

I just openned it right now (after 3-4 hours have passed since last restart) and magically, it works.

But i'm curious, what caused this issue and why was it randomly resolved after a while?

It is too soon to communicate on the details, we will share more details once the analysis is fully completed.

Earlier today, Firefox became unresponsive due to a change in defaults by a cloud provider which triggered a Firefox HTTP/3 bug. We disabled the configuration change and confirmed this fixed the issue.
