I use Chrome daily on android, but occasionally Firefox. It must have updated automatically and all my stuff is gone. It won't let me in without a password. Since when do browsers have passwords? I used Firefox for 20 years and I'm stumped.

In Firefox you can have:

  1. A Sync/Firefox Account password, which is not obligatory. You can just open a new tab. This password also syncs your stuff.
  2. A device password - this monit shows up only on a Logins&Passwords page.
