Friends, I love TB and have over 600,000 messages under its control. Newly experienced, very annoying. On Mac on trackpad I do a 2 finger push (same as right click on mouse) while cursor is on a folder, an immediately the first item on that drop down executes. Very annoying. The way to avoid it is to be very careful and pull my finger immediately to the left after executing the drop down but that doesn't always work.

I managed to edit the drop down and put search as first item, but still, the search window keeps popping up for the reason I explained above.

Is there a way to have this work like it should: right click just bring up the menu and wait for you to select a command. Or, to have a blank first item.

Thanks a lot for your help.

The mouse / trackpad etc detects your instruction and communicates it to computer which in turn acts upon your instruction by performing what you requested in the program that has focus; Thunderbird on this occasion.

It seems to me that your trackpad is very sensitive, so would suggest you try resetting the sensitivity of your trackpad.

Unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem. sometimes only way to make it work is to hold the trackpad and keep holding it down and scroll to the right option. no other app than TB has this issue.
