Installed Mojave OS on MacBook Pro, Thunderbird 24.x mail stopped working - crashes @ EMPTY. Also, Thunderbird says I am up to date with 24.5.0, updates enabled
I can open Thunderbird but it crashes every time I try to use it. This is my favourite mail programme. But it is too difficult to downgrade the Mojave OS. When will it become compatible? Are others having the same problem?

Now Thunderbird is working! It is version 52.9.1. Not sure what I did wrong but now the problem seems to be solved and I am very grateful. Many thanks Wayne! Karen

Thanks Wayne, I am not computer savvy. I see that all the Thunderbird crashes on my computer were reported to Apple. But when I spoke with technical assistance at Apple, they said it is a software problem with Thunderbird, that it has not been updated to handle the new MOJAVE OS. Your crash reports indicate Thunderbird version 24. It's not surprising you are crashing.
Please update to 52.9.1. https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/52.9.1/mac/en-US/Thunderbird%2052.9.1.dmg
If that still crashes try version 60 https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/
Also, do you have updates disabled?
Thanks Wayne. My Thunderbird says I am up to date with 24.5.0 and yes I have the updates enabled. I will try your suggestion now.
I tried both links and neither has worked to stop the crashing. Thunderbird continues to say I have version 24.5.0 and it is up to date.
