I installed Thunderbird on my PC and am using both biz and Gmail accounts. TB is constantly "syncing" the 15GB archive file that I had associated with one of my Gmail addresses and "captures" the program, slowing everything down to a crawl. I think I should re-uninstall that Gmail address but would like to prevent the archive file from being associated with it when using Thunderbird.

What?

would like to prevent the archive file from being associated with it when using Thunderbird.

What archive file are you talking about? Please explain that in more detail. For an IMAP account Thunderbird syncs messages with the server, but not files.

Thank you for responding. For many years I Archived files within Outlook using a Gmail address and POP server. When I migrated that Gmail address into Thunderbird the program also wanted to bring in the Archive file which is 16GBs in size. I thought that file was separate from my Gmail account since it is separately names and listed in the Outlook directory, Instead, that Outlook Archive file must have been associated with the Gmail account that I migrated into Thunderbird and it therefore is syncing all the time trying to keep everything current. Slows the program to almost a halt.
