Quantum built-in PDF viewer doesn't work

more options

Hallo.

So I'm taking quantum for a test drive and there's one huge snag. The built-in PDF viewer refuses to work. I have Creative Cloud 18, which seems to automatically install an Adobe Acrobat extension, so I don't know if that's the problem or not. I tried disabling it, but it didn't make a difference. I see no way to completely remove it so the best I can do is disable it. Firefox behaves the same way whether it's enabled or disabled.

Basically, one of the great things about Chrome is that when I click a PDF link, it downloads and opens in a new tab. When I click a PDF link with Quantum, I get a choice to either open it with Acrobat or download the file. I have selected "Preview in Firefox" in settings, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there any way to get this to work?

Don't know what Information you guys need, but this is a fresh install of Quantum, with no extra extensions or plug-ins other than the disabled Acrobat one. Windows 10 x64. I'll also attach a PNG of the two pertinent windows. Thx!

hi, servers can also specify in particular that the file should be downloaded (instead of previewed). please see if the following extension helps in this case: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/always-preview-webextension/

Yeah, it's weird.. I've tried many PDFs from many sites, and they all behaved the same.  :( But, the extension you linked will works well enough. Thank you!

I'd still like to know how to solve the issue without using an extension, but I can live with this for now. Thanks again! Have a good one.
