Plugin-container.exe is the plug-in component manager of Firefox.
Many times this process has problems with Flash Player.
If you receive a lot of problems with it, you can uninstall Flash and just let Firefox load HTML5. YouTube and other sites will still load without Flash Player.

Thanks for the reply. I have revised my answer. The point I was trying to make is that when plugin-container.exe crashes it usually is Flash Player which is the culprit.
No I have had many times plugin container freezing everything I am doing whether using Flashplayer on the net or not....the point is is that based upon at least 3 years of mozilla users complaining about the plugincontainer.exe causing problems....mozilla continues to point the finger at other non-Mozilla programs and applications not...or the mozilla users themselves.....how about simply coming up for a replacement for plugincontainer.exe??????
Jack,
The "solution" will be coming before too long. All Plugins will be deprecated. Possibly by the end of 2016 Firefox won't use any Plugins, and then there will be no need for plugincontainer.exe process to protect Firefox from being crashed by dodgy Plugins.
