On www.rci.com, the Calendars will not open to select a travel date. It works on Explorer so something has happened in Firefox.

Going to the RCI travel club, one needs to enter dates of travel. The calendars do not open, nor do they allow any typing. In Explorer everything is fine. Something happened in Firefox during one of the updates apparently. I have deleted cookies and history and have worked with the tech at RCI, who went over several things and said it was a Firefox situation where something has been deleted or something has been added which interferes with the RCI calendar. He said with the previous Firefox version that RCI had to work with Firefox to fix several things but he was unable to fix this problem. Any ideas? I would love for Mozilla to address this.

Do you recall whether this started with the Firefox 41 update a couple weeks ago, or the Firefox 40 update sometime in August/September?

If you haven't already, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, hardware acceleration, and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Normally I would try hands on, but this site won't let me do anything without creating an account. Also, I don't own a timeshare... Maybe they can give some volunteers a temporary login?

Starting Firefox in the Safe Mode and going to the RCI site worked. The calendars came up and I could follow through with my booking. To finally fix the error which probably occurred when I synced my computers a couple of weeks ago, I just hit Refresh and took everything out because I can sync again and go thru the items one-by-one. The Add On's were not current. Firefox itself was current. I had already emptied the cache and cookies and history, which did nothing. Note: When you open Firefox in the save mode, type in Troubleshooting Mozilla Firefox, and you will get several good results. If all else fails just Refresh and start over with your homepage and add-ons and toolbars and so forth. Be careful which ones you add because they must stay current. Thank you jscher2000.
