newly installed firefox, search is being redirected to yahoo.com
windows 7 pro new computer. My other computer do not have this problem. It is on newly downloaded firefox

If your setting change doesn't work or doesn't stick...
When you installed Firefox, is it possible you got the custom Yahoo edition? Normally, there are no extensions in Firefox, so if yours shows the Yahoo! toolbar, that could be your problem... you can check using the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right. If in doubt, disable.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that help you regain control?
