So i'm behind a Proxy Server and i'm generally using Chrome for my surfing. Now i tried to use Firefox to test some things, but i can't get it to work. I'm using the "Use system proxy settings" and when i start the browser, the popup for the credentials appears. But after entering them i get the error. All internal Pages word, so my proxy exemptions are used correctly. Where can i geht a better Errorlog than "The proxy server is refusing connections"? Is there some kind of logfile?

I'd imagine that there would be logs if you had admin access to the proxy server. However there is also a setting "Do not prompt for authentication if password is saved", do you have this checked?

I have tried it with and without the checkbox, both didn't work. Is there a way to set Firefox to verbose mode, so i can see in wich way the proxy refuses the connection?

Why did you select "Use system proxy settings", is that similar to what your other browser uses and if not, are you sure those settings were set up properly?

Also, did you leave the "localhost, 127.0.0.1" in the "No proxy for" field, even though that may be grayed out when choosing System proxy settings?

I’m not that familiar with proxies, but keep in mind that 127.0.0.1 is used for loopback connections and may differ from other browsers. If your proxy is part if Burp Suite, maybe this topic at their support forum can be of help?

In Firefox there is a tool called Web Console in the Tools >Developer menu. You can see the client requests, not the proxy requests.

There is also fiddler, I used to use that when I started support:

Or there is another one called wireshark that is free.
