When I select Print Preview for a message, I get an error "The selected printer could not be found." I can print the message, but I can't preview the output. I do have a default printer configured, and it does work. Before I reinstall Thunderbird, does anyone understand my problem? And what exactly is the "selected printer" in preview, anyway? Thanks.

Thanks, Matt. Defaulting the printer.print entries didn't help. But I changed the search to printer and reset all the references to any printer device. That did fix the problem. Preview now works.

reinstalling will do nothing

Used the config editor to reset all entries in the group printer.print.

In the config editor type printer.print and then right click each entry and set it to default.

Can you guide me how you did that, that is change the search to printer?

I just meant that I entered 'printer' in the search field instead of 'printer.print'. References to several printers came up and I reset them all to default.

I searched on "printer" and then right-click on the line and clicked "reset" that worked for me.
