How to copy calendar data from Outlook 2010 to Thunderbird 38.0.1? Should be included in Thunderbird's import wizard

more options

I use 32 bit Windows 7. What is the best way to copy my calendar data from Outlook 2010 to Thunderbird 38.0.1? I have installed Thunderbird 38.0.1 to migrate away from Microsoft Office (and Windows). Importing my calendar data is now the only thing stopping me. I do not want to upload my private calendar data to some online service outside my own control. Calendar data should be included in the import wizard in Thunderbird.

Thunderbird can import iCalendar (*.ics) and Outlook Comma Separated Value (*.csv) calendar files. Events and Tasks (Alt-N) - Import You'd need to export your Outlook calendar data to one of these formats.

Thank you for your answer. I have tried both the suggested solutions without success.

I have thousands of appointments / meetings.

Using iCalendar does not copy recurring appointments in an acceptable way. And the content of appointments marked as private are copied without content. It is realistically impossible for me to change all appointments to non-private since those from others apparently cannot be changed.

Trying to export using Outlook Comma Separated Value (*.csv) calendar files crashes my Outlook.
