After an adobe Flash Drive crash that was reported by Mozilla as Firefox stopped working, that has been fixed but now I can no longer see the bookmarks folder/icon in the open menu on the far right of the address bar. If I go onto Google home page I can access bookmarks by bookmarks icon but still does not show on the open menu. How do I restore bookmarks icon to open menu?

Your button for your Firefox bookmarks is there, I circled it in red in the attached copy of your screen shot.

Are you missing an icon for your Google bookmarks? If this was previously on your main toolbar, it might have been placed there by an add-on. One place to look for add-on buttons is in the Customize dialog. Choose Customize from the bottom of the menu to view the available unused icons.

Any luck?

If the button is not there, could you double-check that the add-on is still installed and enabled? Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then scan down the list on the right. Disabled extensions cluster at the bottom.

Any logical candidates?

Thank you your instructions were very clear.

I found where you circled but it used to be in open menu.

When I went to the extensions page and looked for disabled extesnions there were only 4 and non were candidates:adobe acrobat for pdfs, norton toolbar from 2014, real downloader and Skype...I am making pdfs and using Skype and removed the norton toolbar long before this happened--don't know what real downloader is. Thank you Jan

Have you tried the hot key;<Control>(Mac:<Command>) <Shift> B.

Thank you but that didn't make it appear. The previous responder was able to show me where it is but not on open menu. As long as I can access the bookmarks somehow its ok. Thank you for trying

Do you meant the drop-down list like the "show your bookmarks" button opens or do you mean a button that opens the bookmarks in the sidebar?

Did you previously used the Classic Theme Restorer extension?

  • You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
  • You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

thank you but as I showed in my posting I was trying to find the bookmarks icon on the open menu. it was not the classic theme restorrer.

One of the previous responders was able to show me where it is but not on open menu. As long as I can access the bookmarks somehow its ok. Thank you for trying

Do you mean that you want the bookmarks button next to your address bar to be in the menu that appears when you click the button that looks like three horizontal lines?

  1. Click the menu button.
  2. Click Customize in the menu.
  3. Drag the bookmarks button from your address bar into the menu.
  4. Click Exit Customize.

Thank you for replying..No,as the screen shot shows I used to have the footnotes icon on the open menu along with the others that show. Currently as mentioned by the first responder it is on its own and that is fine. I have how to access it just not the same way and that is fine for what I need.

Thank you for writing.
