File upload dialog defaults to show *.txt files only

Firefox has just upgraded itself to version 36.

Prior to this I was using the 'File Upload' dialog to upload *.css and *.php files, and they all showed as soon as I navigated to the required directory, so presumably it was defaulting to All Files (*.*) Now (after upgrade) it is defaulting to '*.txt' and all I see is a blank box because there are no *.txt files. I can of course change to '*.*', and it lasts for that action. But after refreshing the page, next time I try the dialog reverts to '*.txt'.

Trivial, perhaps, but infuriating when one is doing a lot of uploading. Can it be fixed, please.

What are you using that provides that "'File Upload' dialog"? Firefox doesn't "do" file uploads itself. Is it an add-on or something from a particular website?

Thanks for your response.

I'm using an app that I wrote myself in PHP. The app presents a form which includes an input for file upload and a 'Browse' button. Clicking the browse button brings up a 'windows explorer' type of dialog for navigating to and selecting a file (of course).

Before Fx36 , the default file type was 'All Files (*.*)' Now it defaults to 'Text Document (*.txt)' every time.

If there's anything I can put in my app or configure in my browser to influence this default I'll be delighted. But configuring the browser won't help other users.
