I don't even know how to explain but I will try. So when I open Firefox, I type something in the Google search box, let's say I type glasses. Then I have the page with the search results, ok? I click on one of the results and I'm in that specific website talking about glasses. But I realize that is not what I want so I click the "back" thing so I can go back to my search results. But when I do this, everything disappears and I get a blank page so I have to search again for glasses. It does not happen sometimes, it happens ALL THE TIME and is soooo annoying and frustrating. Any tips on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Emma

Sorry, this glitch occurs when high zoom levels are combined with Google's dynamic "instant prediction" results and a Firefox feature meant to save time in showing the last page when you go Back. It has not been solved yet, but there is a workaround. Here are the steps:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers preference and change the value from -1 to 0 (that's a zero).

(Please don't change any other similar-sounding settings to 0 or you may disable Firefox's ability to save/restore your open windows and tabs.)

Then reload the problem page. Hopefully after that you won't need to reload.

Does that work for you?

You lost me at the second point. After I type about.config and click enter the search result appears. A list with all kind of websites. So do I click on any of the websites that appear in the search result? Because if I type sess in the box above the list resulted from the about.config search, nothing happens. I get the "optimum" page which means nothing related to sess was found. Please stick with me, Im not a computer geek. Thanks

Make sure to use a colon (:) between about and config, about:config.

about: is a way to access various innards of Firefox (try about:about for a fairly complete anatomy).

It is about:config with a colon and not a dot.

about: is a protocol used to access special built-in pages You can open about: pages via the location/address bar.
