Searching for an answer to this question - How to set multiple Home pages in Ff - & trying to follow an answer, has raised other questions -

I cannot open a second Ff window - no option to 'Open in new window' in right-click menu (what is 'Move to New Group>' supposed to do, all it seems to do is close the current tab?), just New or Duplicate tab options. Selecting Ff in either Start>All programs or in Quick Launch toolbar (WinVista) opens new Home tab in existing Ff window.

Hi ukdeejay, the right-click menus vary depending on where you click. Are you right-clicking a tab, a link, a bookmark ??

Perhaps you are viewing a tab group when you get that short menu. I haven't used that feature....

You should see an "Move to New Window" entry in the right-click context menu of the Tab bar that has the same effect as dragging the tab slightly down in the browser area to tear off that tab.

You should be able to open a new window via File > Open New Window or Firefox > New Tab > New Window (Ctrl+N).

If that isn't possible then check for problems with your installed extensions.

Firefox usually uses the currently selected window if Firefox is already open and doesn't open a new window.
You can create a desktop shortcut with the -new-window command line parameter and the home page url to open a specific page in a new window.
