Problems after having installed TBD 78.4.0 (32-bit) from TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit)
Hi All, With TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit) I experienced problems syncing google contacts - especially groups. As Addons I used gContactSync and Provider for Google Calendar.
I wasn't aware that with TBD 78.4.0 (32-bit) there are no Addons that would sync Google contacts and calendar entries. Currently, I see still all my mails accounts and all the mails and the contacts. But syncing contacts with Google does not work anymore nor do I see my calendar entries.
Now, I decided to re-install TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit), but the procedure I found did not work - I was asked for a new profile, which to my understanding would include setting up all my mails accounts from scratch.
Can anyone help me to get back to TBD 68.12.1 (32-bit) without loosing my data?
Thanks! Martin

Not sure if you are using MAC or Windows
Exit Thunderbird. Access your original profile name folder. In TB78 the main address book changed from abook.mab to abook.sqlite, and the Collected Addresses address book from history.mab to history.sqlite.
So. look for eg: abook.mab.bak and rename to say abook.mab (remove the .bak part) Do this for all of those *.mab.bak files.
Uninstall Thunderbird. Download and install current version from here: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/
On the last step of the installation do NOT select to start TB. You will need to run a command to allow you to downgrade and you will have to select the profile with Profile Manager and include --allow-downgrade in the command line, eg: for Windows OS In search type 'run' Select the 'Run.app' Type : thunderbird.exe -P --allow-downgrade Note there is a space before and after the -P Click on OK
e.g. for OS X: /Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird -profilemanager --allow-downgrade
Profile Manager starts
select the desired profile name
click on 'Start Thunderbird'.
Syncing the Google Address Book works here in TB 78 with these two add-ons:
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/tbsync/
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/dav-4-tbsync/
I haven't tried it with a calendar, but it should work. There are also versions of the add-ons for TB 68.
