cannot open Thunderbird app; get error message: damaged disk, eject; MacBook Pro 10.13.6; attempted to open the solution shown in forum for this version of Mac, but could not open.

Answer to duplicate post here:
I still got the same error. So, I simply moved the clickable Thunderbird icon into my Apps folder. I could then open it and it works.
After several attempts, I finally just moved the Thunderbird Icon in the downloaded volume into the Apps folder, clicked on it and it opened. I now have it installed.
