I downloaded the current version of Firefox. Then I imported my bookmarks from IE. All the bookmarks appear to be there but the addresses for the listed bookmarks do not match the listing. Th address are from the IE bookmark list but are mixed up and do not match the description. Example: I click on the bookmark for Chase Visa and I am sent to the Dell Computer site. I have tried to uninstall Firefox and re-install but the same thing happens

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

  • Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
  • Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
