Any way to restore things stored in the browser after a Firefox referesh?
So, last night I did a Firefox refresh as my browser was very slow on startup, and (completely my fault) it didn't occur to me I would lose data on sites that don't have accounts and store everything through cookies :/ I didn't lose passwords or bookmarks or anything, but I did (this will sound silly) lose my streak in Wordle and I was wondering if there is any way to restore it? I'm not sure if the data for that site is stored in the file I have in the Old Firefox Data folder, or if it is that is can be recovered at all. I've seen how to copy files from the Old Firefox Data folder but I don't want to copy any files and screw anything up. Any help is appreciated!

You could try copying (with Firefox closed) cookies.sqlite and permissions.sqlite.

Unfortunately, I don't think that worked unless I did it wrong :( I copied the entire files into the main folder and nothing changed.
You have to rename the files which are being replaced, e.g. cookiesren.sqlite. You probably did that so I don't know what else to suggest. 'Refresh' is a clumsy tool which seems to have unforeseen consequences.

I don't think I did that, actually :o What I did was copy the files from the old folder and paste them into the new profile folder; I didn't change the name of anything.
It's possible there were no files with the same names in the new profile. You would have received a warning about overwriting them. As a matter of interest, this is the support article on 'refresh'.

Note that Firefox needs to be closed if you replace files in the profile folder. It is possible that data is stored in local storage and not in cookies and in that case it might be difficult to restore data stored in indexedDB (storage folder).
