Picasa not seeing Thunderbird as default mail when sending JPG on 3 computers
For years Ive used Picasa (to organize and email pictures) using Thunderbird as my email client. Im getting a msg from Picasa saying I havent chose a default email client. I have and its Thunderbird. Ive checked and double checked, done a new install of windows 10 (keeping apps and files) and nothing changes. Where would you suggest I look for answers. I know Picasa isnt supported anymore, but I like it, and it does work and do everything I want (just like Thunderbird does)

Uninstall the 64-bit version, then download the 32-bit installer. This doesn't affect your data in the profile folder, which should be recognized when TB 32-bit is run. Be sure to set TB as the default during (Advanced) setup, and restart the computer when the installation is finished.

I should also add, this is on 3 different computers, leading me to think Windows Update may have dropped the ball on my foot (so to speak)
Is your TB 32-bit or 64-bit? Help/About TB. I believe Picasa is 32-bit, so it won't connect with 64-bit TB.
I have had Picasa working for a long time in Windows 10 64 bit. All 3 of my computers are 64bit. My use is looking at a photo in Picasa, (which all works fine in all functions TILL I click to send an email. Now it says there is no default email program selected in Windows. Thunderbird IS selected as default email. It is a nice shortcut. The work around is to open Thunderbird, and find the photo folder, then the photo then attach it. Picasa's way was to have one or more photo's selected then click on email and it just opened an outgoing message in Thunderbird with the attachments all set. I just have the feeling it was a Windows 10 Update that messed this up. By the way, I do not like Windows 10 Photos, I prefer to have "My Photos" "My Music" and so on. I did uninstall Picasa and reinstall it. I may go for a Clean install of W-10 just to see what would happen.

This is not to related to Windows being 64-bit. It's whether TB is 32 or 64 bit that matters. TB 32-bit works fine on Windows 64-bit, as it has for years.

I didnt know there was a 64bit version of Thunderbird, I will check and see if there is a 64 bit version. Aha, I did check and I have the 64 bit version of Thunderbird. By the way, Thunderbird in all other ways acts like its the selected Default email program. Just isnt working with Picasa.

Ill be danged, 32 bit was the key. Must be T Bird updated itself a while ago on my computers and make it 64 bit to match the OS. Many thanks. Because picasa is 32 bit, they werent communicating properly with a 64 bit T Bird, I would guess
