Make firefox profile follow network users on different workstations
We have about 50 windows 7 workstations and up to 200 users. When users sign on to a different workstation, they have to setup firefox again. is it possible to make firefox use their profile stored on the server inside their user data so they have the same firefox experience on any workstation?
I know there is the posibility of loging into firefox but i want to avoid making 200 people setup firefox accounts that they need to log into as well.
i would also like to force the same firefox version out to all machines.

Thank you all for you time and contributions to this question.
Today i stumbled upon the solution which was so simple and ultimately outside of firefox altogether.
When reviewing the group policy settings on our network i saw that App Data (Roaming) was something that could be redirected to the User Data folders on the network server. I remembered seeing the C:\Users\pinatatAppData\roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\lliekx03.default location. I enabled the app data folder to be redirected to the server, gpupdate \force on my machine then logged in on another workstation and viola! my firefox profile (bookmarks, saved passwords, etc) was there! PROBLEM SOLVED!

Possibly a couple ways. Working Profiles is a start https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data some info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles and this should tie the above together (I hope) : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Multiple_profiles
I am sure there is more ways to do so but this should give you something to work with (maybe).
FYI: Flash has had emergency update release. to ver 27.0.0.170 https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Thank you for the quick reply. yes Working Profiles is a start https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data is a good start and the some info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles is a clue but alas i cannot tie it all together.
How do i tell firefox on all machines on the network to look in the current users user data folder on the network for the profile, not the local machine? use: \\server\UserData\pinata\lliekx03.default instead of: C:\Users\pinatatAppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\lliekx03.default
I believe this would allow firefox to travel with users to different machines.
i'm thinking something like a .ini file on the local machine where i can point it to a folder on the network. probably with wildcards and roll it out via group policy so i don't have to set it up on each machine and for each user.
Glad was a start. Maybe have a look through these. This may be what you are looking for : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Enterprise_deployment this is rather old but might find something useful : https://wiki.mozilla.org/Deployment:Deploying_Firefox_New and Deploying Firefox Preferences Through Group Policy http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2981633
Sorry I do not have a direct answer for you.

You may find this useful. It is the complete trouble shooting guide. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-support-troubleshooting-guide I would expect it to be updated for 64bit and multiprocessor.
You would have to use a profiles.ini file on each local computer that points to the profile on the network device. Note that this can cause issues if this device responds slowly or is off line.
