How do I downsize and send images to email recepient? Thunderbird still gives me the option to downsize but when I choose the size of the file I get an error l
In the past when I sent an image to an email account, I would get the option to choose file size, small , large, larger, etc. I would choose size and the image would be sent. Now when I choose size, I get the following error message " There is no email account to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel. I have already chosen Thunderbird as my default email program, but still get the error message and cannot send image. Help me as I like to share my photos with my friends.

Thunderbird doesn't have any native ability to resize images. The message you report suggests a third party utility is being used and it probably expects to make use of an MS email client. It might be using the MAPI interface. Have a look at this:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/MAPI_Support
…and note the part about the wrong email client being called. The "fixmapi.exe" fix may help you.
You could use a Thunderbird add-on. I like
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunderbird/addon/auto-resize-image/
because it can resize a broad range of image file types, and can work on both embedded and attached images.
This would change your workflow. Rather than sending images to an email program, you would instead start an email message, add images to it and it would then propose re-sizing when you send the message.

I was using Thunderbird before and the images were resized when I choose the size in the option box and they were resized and sent. What has changed?

You were using an add-on. My guess is it is not working well with the new version.
