How can i create a template with a background?
When i create a template in TB and use an image from my hard disk and set it as a background image, TB apparently takes it and saves it with the other template info in its own zzzz.default/zzz Templates file as
mailbox:///home/myuser/.thunderbird/3ja7qras.default/Mail/mail.ntchosting.com/Templates?number=12&part=1.3
i have now found out that when i send a message to myself and open it up, the background is not displayed. If i switch to View/Simple HTML AND switch off View/Attachment inline, i can see the background file at the bottom of the email as an attachment. When i click on this attachment using a jpg file viewing program like Gwenview, my background file is displayed.
In other words, the email is being sent with the background image, but at least in TB, it cannot be or is never displayed correctly...
Using a browser and checking my Gmail, the email also appears without any background.
Why would TB have an option to create a background if it is never displayed in received mails?
Have a great evening! :)

It uses the millions of outlook express templates that are scattered all over the web. It does not use outlook.

Using an HTML editor like ThunderHTML, i changed the FFFFFF background color to A5EDEB - kinda light blue - saved the mail as template and sent it.
The background pic has finally rendered for the first time! Yea!!!
Have a great afternoon! :)
P.S. i do not know why changing the background color from FFFFFF to A5EDEB has now permitted the background image to show, but i'm still grateful that it does.
Seen this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/stationery/
Thnaks for helping, Matt, however the app doesn't have any stationary templates available and i'm not running Windoze so we don't have or want access to Outlook.
Again, thanks for helping and have a great evening! :)
