When I click a message folder in the local folders, many of the folders do not display messages in the message pane. If is use the message filter and click "unread" I see there are many messages that are unread (e.g. 45). BTW, there should be no unread messages in the local folders. If I look at the properties for the folder I see there are messages in the folder (e.g. 79). I clicked on the repair button to try to repair the msf file but there is no change. I looked at the file for the message folder in the Thunderbird profile. There is a file there with non-zero size. The msf file shows as zero kB.

How do I get the messages to display properly?

That's a problem. Doesn't ring a bell for me.

CLose out Thunderbird, delete the MSF file and restart.

Does the MSF regenerate? (it should) What size appears?
