Hi,

For some reason, after updating to FF 42, images from pbs.twing.com (profile images, user uploaded images, etc) will not display. In FF 41.0.2, no problem. Videos and other data display fine, but these are not from pbs.twing.com.

Thanks!

The Web Console (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer) shows what content is blocked by tracking-protection (look for items marked with a red Security bar)

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains. You can tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.

Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and Anti-Virus software that can block images and other content.

Cor-el,

1st, thank you very much for your extensive assist reply, as it is very much appreciated!

Ok, went through the steps. When I got to 'start FF in safe mode', that worked. So, went back, and 1 by 1 began to disable extensions (don't have a set theme). Once all were disabled, problem still existed. So, finally did a FF refresh. That worked, but here's the thing...

when I set Privacy to "Never Remember History", it didn't work again, nor did it work in a "New Private Window". Interesting, because it did before going to FF 42. When I switch to "Remember History", or "Custom" with the following settings:

Always use private browsing mode - unchecked Remember my browsing and download history - unchecked Remember search and form history - unchecked Accept cookies from sites - checked (allow Hootsuite in exceptions) Accept third-party cookied - from visited Keep until - they expire Clear History When FF Closes - checked

...this also works.

So, for some reason, Hootsuite will not work properly anymore with the FF private browsing mode. Would this be a FF or Hootsuite issue?

Again, thank you very much for the assist!

In Firefox 42 you may see a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar when you are in private browsing node that some content is blocked. This is a new tracking-protection feature that is enabled by default in a New Private Window.

Cor-el,

Found it, didn't notice that before. A helpful addition to that feature, would be for it to work like NoScript, providing a list of what elements are being blocked on that page/site and allowing the user to choose which particular elements they'd like to disable/enable. Looks like right now, it just allows for a complete disabling/enabling on a particular webpage/site.

Again, thank you very much for all your assistance, very much appreciated!
