So, I just upgraded to FF 35.01 (yeah, I'm late) from FF 33-ish and I can't figure out how to use custom search engines in this version. In my old version I would just click the search tool at the top right of the browser and the list of search engines I'd added would be displayed and I could search directly on Amazon, Youtube, Wikipedia, or what have instead of having to do a Google search first. Am I missing something or is that feature gone and Google the only option now? If so, is downgrading to FF 33 a bad idea as far as performance and/or security issue go?

Kiválasztott megoldás

I use OmniBar to get rid of the search box entirely and incorporate it into my location bar. I can then choose whatever search engine I want as well as add one.

The search options in Firefox 35 have been moved into the Options.

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. -> Options -> Search

If you want the old search UI, look at this. Prier to FF 34 (http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-new-one-click-search-bar-interface-in-mozilla-firefox/)
