I have recently ordered a VPN.It's good, but has it's ups and downs.I did ask the VPN people the same question about Firefox add-ons.They said it 'might' interfere with the VPN.LOL.Nothing says confidence like the word 'might'!It does seem to work just fine. Here's what I'm thinking in very basic terms. The VPN uses encrypted tunneling.Do the add-ons actually drag these companies, that they block, into the tunnel with the Firefox browser that I'm using?Because the add-ons are still showing the number of companies their blocking even though I'm in an encrypted tunnel. It seems like the tunnel should block all those companies before the add-ons get a chance to see them. And I have to start the whole VPN,tunneling, process on my desktop before I even get to the browser.I know I could start the browser with the add-ons turned off.I just don't know if somehow they might work hand-n-hand or if they work against each other. With or without the add-ons Firefox will remain my main browser!!!!!!You guys and gals are great!!Keep up the good work!!Have a good day.

Firefox is sending the exact same requests, but now they are going through the tunnel.

Don't think of the VPN as a filter, think of it as a transporter.

Instead of websites thinking of your web requests originating from your house through your internet service provider, websites will perceive them as coming from the distant location of your VPN service using their internet service provider. If you visit sites that try to guess your location, you should see that they are now guessing some completely different place. (If the sites stored cookies with your old location, then you probably will still see that.)

With that in mind, it makes sense that websites still pull in all the same ads and other stuff. To prevent that from happening, you'll still need add-ons.

As for whether they will all work together perfectly, I don't know. Each user creates a unique blend so there's probably no one in the world who can test it better than you can.
