Hi, try a clean re-install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
- Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
- After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
- Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
thank you
HI, reporting back (hehe)
Not sure however how you can call what shown above a 'clean reinstall' however I have followed them and reinstalled it. Wouldnt a clean reinstall also run a cleaner before reinstalling?
I used control panel add/remove rather than simply delete the folders. It removed the folders in any event, and likely & importantly likely some other associations. I will use it as a default browser for some time and come back if the issue reoccurs/continues. regards
HI, The issue continues. Please see attached as not sure if message is identical.
Looking forward to your further advises

screen print of error message is attached. Once I click on either Close or Restore, I can get to the Home page. Do I have to reinstall Mozilla? Thanks,
Hello lrtak13, your issue it is not related with the above.
on mac the message you see it is a bug (Bug 845681, Closing all windows and quitting Firefox afterwards leads to about:sessionrestore to be shown on next startup). Till the bug fixed(probably in the next release 21.0 in a few days), some reportes that closing Firefox from Firefox > Quit while the browser window is still open works well.
otherwise, just a temporary solution (till the bug fixed) is to go to about:config find (or copied/paste from here) the browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash and double-click on it to make it FALSE.
Thank you
Ideato, Thank you for your comments. I'll wait till new update occurs to fix. The URL for http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config gave me an error message.
