Pretty much the title. On the first launch after update, the firefox logo on my taskbar turns into a blank page icon (with the top right corner folded down) and then after I close the program there is no icon for it on my taskbar.

It only takes a few seconds to add it back to the taskbar, but it's been happening for a few months now, and with these frequent updates it's gotten pretty frustrating.

This issue with the Firefox icon on the taskbar after an update may be caused by a corrupted user profile or a compatibility issue with your Windows version.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Try creating a new Firefox user profile: Open the Firefox menu, go to "Help", and then "Troubleshooting Information." Click on "Create a new profile" and follow the instructions.
  2. Check if there is a compatibility issue with your version of Windows: Right-click on the Firefox shortcut, go to "Properties," and then click on the "Compatibility" tab. Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select "Windows 7" or an earlier version of Windows.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall Firefox: Uninstalling Firefox will remove all the settings and add-ons, but your bookmarks, history, and saved passwords will be saved. To reinstall, go to the Firefox website and download the latest version.
