There used to be an option for "full themes" that would allow for these kinds of things: https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/firefox-full-themes/21705 . In about:preferences#home You can customize what appears on firefox home with the toggles. As for changing images on the home, I'm afraid that's not possible. You can set custom URLs for new tabs, windows, etc though.
