I have an android with Firefox installed, and a Mac where I also use Firefox. When I first installed Firefox on each, the bookmarks matched. I do the bulk of work on my laptop, but occasionally have articles I wish to bookmark on my phone. I have done a sync, but when I go to access the bookmarks on my phone, they are not updated to what is on my laptop.

When I check to see what devices I have connected through Firefox, my phone does not show up, and when I hit the link to "connect a device" all it does it take me to a link to send a text to invite my phone to install it. Which, it's already installed.

I really need these bookmarks to talk to each other properly. What am I missing?

Thank you! I am not ready to nuke my system, yet - it seems to erase any add ons and whatnot.

I DID figure out how to get into both devices and get the to sync automatically, but I will keep this in mind as I move forward and need to fix it. I will just lose too much stuff right now if I do that, and don't really have the bandwidth atm to deal with what that mean. But thank you, again!!

Looking at the sync on my phone, it shows the last time it did so was May 5, 2020. There is no option that I can see to manually sync. I thought this should be doing so automatically on a regular basis. I have searched on both devices where I could set up a schedule of syncing, but don't see anything. Could this have anything to do with having two different OS (Android vs Mac/Apple)?

EDIT - I DO see where I can manually sync and have done so, but why is this not happening automatically?

Hi Aimé Lilithe, glad to see you on Mozilla Support Forum.

Maybe some of your files has been corrupted that's why sync feature does not working properly. You can fix this issue by refreshing the browser:-

  • Click the menu icon, then click on “Help”. Click on Firefox's main menu button, represented by three horizontal lines.
  • Click “Troubleshooting Information”.
  • Click on “Refresh Firefox”.
  • Confirm.
  • Click “Finish”.

If it doesn't solved your problem, then feel free to ask in Reply Section. Thanks for raising your question in Mozilla Support Forum.

I don't think that Firefox for Android has the Refresh feature, I believe that is a Desktop / Laptop feature only. But I am not sure as I don't use a smart phone.

Actually this is the wrong forum for "mobile devices" each of them has their own forum. Best answered in the applicable forum.
