I recently started using Thunderbird, and I sincronized two mail accounts. My trouble is when sending mails. When I try to email somebody who I had emailed to before started using thunderbird and writing the begining of his mail adress on Writing email panel, I can't autocomplete it. There's any way to put all email adresses from inbox to the list "Collected Adresses" either without using any list just autocompleting from inbox?

Hope I'd explained my problem well.

Thanks, Marcel.

Usually, when you receive an email you will see the 'From' header which will say name and/or email address of the sender. Beside that name/email address you will see the outline of a star. That empty star means that person is not in any address book. click on the from name/email address and drop down list appears. Select to 'Add to Address Book' and it is auto entered into the default address book which is 'Personal Address Book' The star will turn yellow denoting it is an an address book.

If you have your 'Menu icon (3 Lines) > Options> 'Options' > Compositions > 'Addressing' tab set up to add sent emails to 'Collected Addresses' then any contact who is not in any address book, will get auto added to 'Collected Addresses' upon sending.

This addon extension may help you with collecting incoming email address.

This addon offers more options for Address Book including being able to choose the address book.

Another addon which may be of help, but I've not tested it.

how to install addon - note there is more than one way for some addons.

Not sure what you used before Thunderbird but you can import contacts. Example: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_importing-windows-mail-contacts

yeah, that add-ons work perfectly. The first one ( https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/index-en.html#addrcollector ) solved my problem by far.

Thanks Toad-Hall.
