Using mac with OS X 10.8.5 and Firefox 37.0.2 and Flash seems to constantly crash (using latest version) with error message telling me it's crashed. I have uninstalled, reinstalled etc several times but still keeps happening (plugin Shockwave Flash Version:17.0.0.169).

Also Firefox freezes for a while when laptop 'wakes up' and have to wait a couple of minutes before it responds - wonder if this is also a flash problem?

Can anyone please help?

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Flash player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

Thanks for your reply. This week both Firefox and Flash have updated themselves and seems to be better re crashing/error messages.

However Firefox continues to freeze on waking if laptop sleeps - no idea what to do about this. No error messages, just have to wait a few minutes before it responds again. Doesn't happen on Safari - but all my 'stuff' is on Firefox so would like to be able to solve it.

Many thanks if anyone has any ideas!
