How do I use "saved passwords" to access a site?
I have a list of saved passwords in firefox. So what steps do I use to access the site. If I click on the saved password entry nothing happens? I want to use firefox saved passwords software. I used to use Roboform where I had a list of logins and just clicked on the entry and the username/password was entered automatically. Can firefox do this, too? If so tell me how to do it? Where's the list of logins in firefox that I can click on and have the username & password filled in from the saved list? My windows XP/pro died so I had to transfer data to Win7. Some of my Roboform data was lost so I am starting over and want to use Firefox software for username/password to access sites similar to the way Roboform works? Tell me how?

I have read all of your helps including those you listed and there is nothing in those helps that helps me. I have saved the passwords and I can see the list. What I want to know is how can I click on the address of the site and get firefox to fill in the saved usernames and passwords? I have been using Roboform software where they provide a list of all your logins (saved usernames & passwords). All you have to do is click on anyone of the saved listings and you go right to the website immediately. Can Firefox do this? If so how? Give me a simple step-by-step how to. Thankis.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:
- Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
You can also check the signon.autofillForms pref on the about:config page.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hello again Cor-el thanks for all of the info and links. Please understand all I want is a simple step by step instruction on how to use Firefox saved usernames and passwords. I have saved about 18 usernames and passwords in a list that I can see and edit if necessary. Now what is the very next step? Where is the list of logins ala' Roboform that I can click on just one of the sites and it will appear with saved username and password filled in. All I have to do is click on login button and the site appears. Can or does Firefox saved usernames/passwords work this way? If so tell me how to do it. Remember simple a,b,c steps. My private browser is turned off and I have checked the use custom settings for history. If Firefox does not work like Roboform just tell me that and then tell me how to work the Firefox saved usernames and passwords software. Thanks much.
Do you see those names in the Firefox Password Manager?
- Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
If not then you should visit the website and login to that website.
Then Firefox should offer to store the name and password unless the website is preventing that via an autocomplete=off attribute.
Hello Cor-el....yes I can see the list of saved usernames and passwords in the Firefox Password Manager. But here's my problem as I have stated over and over. How do I or can I click on a list of saved usernames and passwords and have the website come up and firefox fill in the saved username and password to login into the site. Tell me where is the list of logins that I can click on to make the login happen? If I click on the list of saved passwords in the Manager nothijng happens. Where is the list? Thanks Ed.
