I have an old desktop that I still use as my main computer but I keep being told to upgrade from Firefox 3.6.24 to 8.0. But is it going to work with my system? I have a 3800+ processor, 1 GB of Ram. I don't want to upgrade and find it won't open...

Yeah I saw that. Problem is, I don't know where an AMD Athlon 64 yada yada fits in with a Pentium 4. So having read the system requirements already and being stymied by what SSE2 might be, I posted here. I am not a power user by any means. However, following your reply I googled SSE2. Apparently this capability was added to AMD etc in 2003. Since I bought my HP in 2006 I can only assume yes...it by deduction must be supported...
