IMAP messages marked as NEW

I had a power failure, and after restarting Thunderbird, all IMAP-inbox messages are marked as new message.

  1. Where does Thunderbird store the "READ" and / or "NEW" flags ?

I can probably recover the needed file from backup. I don't want to loose all other Flags I have set set on those messages.

I already tried to restore the global-messages-db.sqlite and the INBOX.msf of the concerned IMAP, but after starting Thunderbird again, after a while, all messages are added again as NEW messages.

Thanks

Generally those details are stored in the server for IMAP accounts.

Perhaps try File menu > compact folders

No matter what I do, Thunderbird keeps adding all messages as NEW for one IMAP-connection on a local server Server-side, I restored also the file (a known good version of yesterday) containing the message-read a.s.o tags.

Because the messages are added as NEW, in the panacea.dat the existing tags for the concerned messages are lost. Seems the messages get a new ID in thunderbird.

Problematic as many messages had special tags on them.

Problem is that the global-messages-db.sqlite is global, meaning deleting the file is not an option without affecting the other IMAP-connections (which do not have problems)

Is there no way to avoid the message re-adding in Thunderbird ?
