Firefox Library background colour
Hi, I realise this sort of thing is not exactly the end of the world but I'll ask anyway. In Proton, the background of the Settings page, about:config page and the Library window have changed to black [with white text]. Before, everything was white background with black text...is there any way at all to go back to that, without changing the Theme that I've been using for years? The Firefox colour settings change the Settings and about:config pages background to white but then you have the glaring white high contrast etc on every web page...and it still has a black background in the Library window, regardless of what colour settings I have there. I can change all this easily with some other theme or that Firefox Color addon [which is how I got the second picture below] but if that's the only option I would rather just put up with it as it is.
First pic is how it is now, second is how it always was before Proton and I want it to be again.
Thanks

Well no one seems to be able to help, and now with Firefox 95 this has all become much worse, to the point of being unusable. Pretty much every page has 'dark theme' until you manually turn it off and every drop down menu etc etc is now black. So the only way I've been able to do anything about it is to just uninstall Firefox and use ESR 91, which at least only has a couple of pages with this annoying black background [settings and about:config]. This was always fine until a couple of months ago with this same Theme. Surely there must be a way to go back to a white background/black text for everything?? No? Oh well.
You can change this pref on the about:config page from 3 to 2 to revert to the Firefox 94 behavior.
- layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override
Dark (0), light (1), system (2) or browser (3)
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
See also this pref:
- ui.systemUsesDarkTheme [0:light; 1:dark; 2:no-preference]
Thanks a lot for the reply and suggestions. I think this somehow must be to do with the theme I'm using because if I disable the theme and just have System Theme enabled, everything is just white with black text, including settings page and all library popups etc. At least it is in ESR 91 and it wasn't with my theme enabled, I don't know if that would be the same in regular Firefox. I really would prefer to use the old theme, but I might try to find some other one that doesn't do this. I don't really want the whole thing to just be plain white, some sort of picture at the top would be good. Thanks a lot, I'll try the things you said and maybe try some other themes.
In case anyone else has a similar problem, this was 100% to do with the theme. For some reason Proton changed everything in that theme, there are tons of other themes that don't do this to the library, settings/about:config pages, popups etc etc. I don't know why it only affects certain themes but it's not a problem now, I just had to apply a different theme to get all the pages etc to show as white with black text as they always were before.
