When ever i try to migrate to another page, the browser puts up a blank page with the message that Firefox stopped the loading of the page, and there is an allow button in the upper right corner of the blank page, which i have to click on, to get to the page i want to travel to. is this normal, and how do i fix it?

can you try restarting Firefox in safe mode. Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
