Please contact me re what to do. ([email protected])

If the answer is "reload Firefox" please tell me how to do such (without losing my "favorites" and other information). I did not find a "reload Firefox" facility.

I wrote the post. Permit me to mention here part of the response I wrote to the one person who (so far) contacted me. It may prove helpful ...

  • For people experiencing the problem.
  • For Firefox staff.

... However, at the moment I don't have the problem. The next paragraph provides part of a chronology and a guess as to a cause of the problem.

As best I can guess, there seems to be some conflict between the Firefox browser and McAfee security. The best evidence I have for such is that ...

  • This morning, I was seeing the problem (which started yesterday).
  • Sometime today, McAfee did an automated update on my computer. (I happened to see the notification that McAfee had finished such.) The Java script problem disappeared.
  • Later today, there was an automated update of Firefox. (I happened to see a notification about such.) The Java script problem came back.
  • Later today, I closed Firefox and went away from the computer for some time, but did not turn the computer off.
  • Then, I came back and turned Firefox on. At the moment, there is no problem.

Oops. This morning, after a reboot, the problem returned. Another one of the error messages is "Exc in ev handl: Error: Bad NPObject as private data!"
