YouTube is blocking playback on Firefox due to my use of an ad blocker. However, playback is not blocked in the same circumstances when I use Chrome. Are they trying to stop me from using an ad blocker or overturn my browser choice by forcing me to move from Firefox to Chrome for playback with an ad blocker enabled?

Youtube apparently keeps changing how it works. There is an ongoing thread on Reddit (remove the blank space in the link). You may need to update your content blocker. I use uBO and have no issue playing videos on youtube.

Is it the identical ad blocker on both browsers? Either way, you might want to contact the author (usually their contact information is in the left column of its page on the Add-ons site) for a fix. If there's no fix, you may need to try a different one.

jscher2000, yes, it was the same ad-blocker on Chrome.

Terry, Thanks, uBO does indeed solve the problem for now. The Reddit thread was also very informative. It is disappointing that Google is fighting back so hard against ad blockers. It's even more disappointing if they are fighting harder on browsers other than their own.
