Thunderbird 68 crashes
Thunderbird 68 has been crashing on me fairly often when closing it down. I have not been able to assign a certain activity that causes it as it can close down just one day and crash when closing another day. I am using 68.10.0 but it was also happening in the previous build as well. The only add-ons I have are Enigmail and Lightning (which I don't even use but it is still enabled).
Has anyone else noticed this behavior?
Thanks

Thanks. I did see that article but unfortunately it didn't really help with trying to narrow down the cause for it. Hopefully with the numerous crash reports that were submitted they see something that is causing it.
As per those articles, I was expecting you to retrieve a crash report and post it here.

Me too. That's why I wrote that into the article :)
Sorry I missed that part. It says to post your crash ID in the forum so here is the latest one I had on 7/2/20

There is bug 1581064 which associates the crash with enigmail, which you do appear to have installed.
At this late point I would suggest trying the V78 product when it is release in the next week as migrating to the beta for such a short time would probably be a pain.
Well that does explain it as I do have Enigmail installed. I looked at that bugtracker link and see it is resolved but I guess not 100%.
I heard there were some issues with v78 and the PGP not working right so will hold off until that gets resolved.
Thanks

Hi I have a Thunderbird issue after it crashed. Should be a new thread but I can't find anywhere to start one.
One evening this week it crashed when trying to send. I received the window to submit an error report but when I clicked it the whole PC crashed. The next morning it fired up ok and (I think) updated my version automatically. It seemed to be ok but I receive emails from a few sources which now do not format properly. Some now have a dark background with black text and are almost impossible to read. Others have a white background but so is the text, though images are fine. Over 80% display ok as before.
I am using version 78.0.1 (32-bit) on a 64-bit PC.
I would be very grateful if you could resolve this.
