how to maximize streaming resolution in Firefox
looking for a way to get maximum streaming resolution in Firefox. I have updated my pc and monitor to handle Ultra HD resolutions, but cannot find what resolutions are supported by Firefox 68 (under Win 7, 64-bit) or how to change. I have read that Firefox is limited to 720P, and do not know if this is still so. Where do I find the current resolution and can it be changed, or do I need a specific add-on? Thanks for any information you can share!

Hi MontanaAndy,
I came across an Add-on which automatically sets your YouTube to high definition : Auto HD/4k/8k for YouTube™ {link}
There is also an alternative to set your resolution in YouTube to 4k by adjusting this value to true in about:config : media.mediasource.webm.enabled (this could impact your battery life)

You can also set Firefox to enable hardware acceleration which makes use of your graphics processor :
- Click the 3-bar menu button
- Click Options
- In General, scroll down to Performance
- If check marked, uncheck Use recommended performance settings
- Check Use hardware acceleration when available
Firefox's performance settings {link}
You can also adjust the content size of your screen if you like :
- Holding ( CONTROL + ) increases the size
- ( CONTROL - ) decreases the size
- ( CONTROL 0 ) resets to the default

Hope this helps!
