I kept getting alerts to up date t-bird and finally did. My t-bird IS my only business e-mail. It's been unusable for 2 weeks and is costing me most of my income due to not being able to send files or receive feedback and request. Within mere seconds of opening t-bird - a blue spinning circle appears and the (X) in the upper right corner turns RED. That red (X) is the ONLY item I can "click" that works. ** As soon as the (window) appears saying t-bird "isn't responding" it gives me the option to "wait" or to close out. I'm NOT technically talented nor do I possess any knowledge of e-mail programs to lean on. The inability to use t-bird is as bad as a baseball pitcher having his arm amputated, except he's got money and I don't. This disaster is causing me to be gravewly worried foreclosure will certainly come - due to not being able to provide for my family. I have to send information to prospects that are in the market for my products. **Then prospects get very mad because they don't receive (what I thought I could send using my G mail) **G mail now has a notification in (RED) that says there is an error. ** It says NO e-mails have been received since 9/27 even though it's October 1st and I HAVE received a few e-mails, but no where near the norm for my g-mail account. ** T-Bird will NOT function long enough to allow me to delete sent mail which contains heavy data that could be contributing to my problem.

    • My computer is custom built and probably has different malware and 'set-ups" that differ from the norm. The man that "built" the computer" is a well known highly respected man who specializes in the technical area of computers. He has been 100% unavailable but DID remote to try and fix it. Nothing he's tried from miles away (by remote) has helped, period. I've never felt so helpless. I can't delete a bunch of e-mails (I was tod I had to) because the t-bird program quits almost as soon as I open it and won't allow any mouse click to have any affect. The Blue Circle rules my life and is ruining it too. ** any guidance will tickle me to no end, much less advice that allows me to fix the E MAIL

thanks a billion!! From "littlefloyd" ****PS -due to Verizon and a totally screwed up cellphone, I had to call Time Warner and change my PASSWORD for the e-mail address I use on t-bird, but, it malfunctioned BEFORE I got the new password for time warner e-mail.

What account with the problem are we talking about - Gmail, Time Warner, or both?

What is your anti-virus software?

Until your problem with Thunderbird is fixed you can use webmail to manage your mail.

If your business depends on Thunderbird, did you bother to create backups of your Thunderbird profile on a regular basis? https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile

My computer is custom built and probably has different malware

Again, if your business depends on that computer, and it is infected with malware, you're doomed. You'll need to take action about that. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware#w_how-do-i-get-rid-of-malware_2

Perhaps he intended to say different ANTI-malware?

(Water over the dam, but I wouldn't have waited 2 weeks to seek help)

littlefloyd,

In addition to christ1's questions...

1. I note you are on Windows 10. How long have you been running Windows 10?

2. Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
