helping friend with thunderbird want to close open emails on exit so it opens at the inbox How???

re :opens at the inbox - how? Thunderbird will remember the session details, what tabs are open, etc and should open on whatever folder you had selected before closing Thunderbird. so select the Inbox folder and then close Thunderbird.
re :want to close open emails on exit If you are talking about someone who does not use the Message Pane, but instead opens emails in a new tab, upon exiting those tabs are remembered as opened and should reopen. If you want them to close before exiting and not reopen on restart: select the 'Inbox' folder Right click on the first 'Inbox' tab and select 'Close other tabs'. then exit Thunderbird.
The man has gone home now with his pc but understand above Would help to have an option "Close Tabs on exit" I used thunderbird last year briefly but gave up as it was often dropping attached / embedded photos regularly Gone back to Office Outlook
