Hi,

Whenever I try to open a web page that has a vine video in it, firefox crashes. This happens everytime. Even opening http://www.vine.co will crash firefox. I noticed the same thing with this website www.flashscore.com, whenever a team scores, firefox crashes. I tried running firefox in safe mode, I even made a complete uninstall and reinstalled, same thing. I really don't want to use another browser. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

hello disappea, what kind of sound card are you using? mozilla's developers are working on a fix for some models which crash on certain html5 audio contents, which should currently already be present in firefox nightly - for details you can also refer to bug #970147.

in addition to what was said there, you could try to disable sound "enhancements" in the windows speaker device properties as a temporary workaround...

Hi Edmeister,

I should say a few things.

Just tried downgrading to Firefox 26.0 and the problem was immediately solved. However Firefox upgraded itself to 27.0 again and problem came back as soon as upgraded.

Since I did a clean install there is only 2 crash reports. However I can generate more if it would be any help to you.

I couldn't figure out how to copy the whole crash report so I'm sending you the crash report links, hope it will work.

Dear Philipp,

Thank you! I am using Creative Soundblaster X-fi Titanium and disabling enhancements seems to have worked. Can enter vine.co without firefox crashing.

Thank you very very much!

I would like to add that I am having this exact same problem since upgrading to Fire Fox 27. I am using the Sound Blaster Titanium HD sound card. If I check the "Disable Sound Blaster Enhancement" box in my control panel then I no longer crash when opening certain videos. If I uncheck the box and try to open those same videos I instantly crash. This was not happening under FF 26.

I hope they find a fix since disabling a major feature of my sound card is not an option I plan to use for very long. I know Chrome does not have this problem. Thanks
