After I click on any tab, I normally move my cursor down and then to the right towards the the right-hand scroll bar. About 50 percent of the time, this causes the tab which has focus to OPEN IN A NEW WINDOW. This is driving me nuts and causing me problems. I finally suspected that Firefox is reading my movements as a mouse gesture somehow (down then right). I have no mouse gesture plugins installed and none of them has any mouse gesture options that I can find. I have never had this problem with Firefox before upgrading to version 7.01. I am using Windows 7 64-bit. I am a loyal user of Firefox, but this problem is making me want to abandon Firefox altogether for some other browser. Please help with any information on how to fix this problem! Thank you!

  • Dragging a tab in the browser window will detach the tab and move it to a new window, this is called tab tearing.
  • Drag a tab back to the tab bar in the original or anther window to undo a detach or move a tab to a specific window. If a window gets empty (you tear off the last tab) then that window will be closed automatically.
