I want to import my bookmarks from Yahoo to Firefox.
Yahoo is doing maintenance on its "bookmark" page until October. Until then nothing new can be added, saved, moved, altered, etc. A few days of this would be okay. However, waiting until the end of October is unacceptable. Is there a simple, foolproof way I can import all my bookmarks from Yahoo into Firefox or is that not doable at this time?

There is a step-by-step procedure at the eHow link below. I do not use Yahoo Bookmarks, so I do not know if this works, but you can try.
- IMPORTANT:
- You might want to name the the file created in step 5 to "YahooBookmarks.html" instead of "bookmarks.htm" to distinguish it from other bookmark files on your hard drive
- And put the file in a place/folder easy for you to find and remember
- The imported Bookmarks will be inter-mingled with your existing Firefox Bookmarks and will be indistinguishable from your existing Firefox Bookmarks
Import Yahoo Bookmarks into Firefox (eHow): https://www.ehow.com/how_8562961_import-yahoo-bookmarks-toolbar-firefox.html
You may also want to backup your Firefox Bookmarks before doing the above, just in case something goes wrong:
- Bookmarks-How do I import, export or back up bookmarks and Backing up and restoring bookmarks (Mozillazine)
- Special Note:
- JSON files (backup Bookmarks), when restored, will over-write all your existing Firefox Bookmarks
- HTML files (exported Bookmarks), when imported, will add to your existing Firefox Bookmarks and could result in duplicates if the item is already in your Bookmarks and is also in the imported HTML file
